Bioshock 2 offers similar binary decision points, but by creating an intimate relationship between the Big Daddy protagonist and his Little Sister all grown up, the game evokes sensations of guilt and responsibility the first title could never have achieved. While the decision to save or harvest little sisters has a narrative affect, their presence seems more environmental than personal. The denizens of Andrew Ryan’s underwater city cared only for themselves, and it caused the Libertarian paradise to eat itself alive. The protagonist of the first Bioshock is an automaton within this decaying world. My first venture into Rapture revealed the dangerous affects of unmitigated self-interest. Warning: This post contains spoilers for Bioshock 2. As always, we welcome your thoughts on all the matters we discuss, and look forward to analyzing one of gaming's most powerful, yet intangible, abilities. Please have a look at the series' introduction as well its previous entries. All in all, like the first bioshock, good deeds are rewarded while bad deeds like unjust murder and revenge are punished and not rewarded. This post is part of " The Sensationalist," a continuing series here at Experience Points in which we examine games' abilities to evoke emotions and sensations in video game players. Should you spare them, their view, as well as the view of others will become more positive toward you as they realize that you can still be good when they at first thought you were a mindless slave, while killing them will have the same effect as harvesting a little sister. Also, there are people throughout who you can choose whether or not to kill. If you instead rescue them, they will reward you with valuables and peoples view on you will change for the better, and in the end, you'll get a good ending. If you harvest them, then peoples already hateful view on you will worsen and you'll get no reward, also, in the end, you get a bad ending, so there's consequences for doing the wrong thing. Harvesting will kill them while rescuing them will make them become human again. Whenever you get a little sister, you can choose to rescue or harvest her. ![]() ![]() There are little girls named little sisters in this game, who have been corrupted by the drug that has been created by the splicers. However, it's only ever out of self defense unlike most games. You are required to kill people known as splicers who have gone insane, who are ultra-violent. Now granted, this is a very violent game. Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has helped you consider buying Bioshock 2. Over all I rate it 15 and up or for a mature 13 year old. The main character can take drugs, consume alcohol and smoke tobacco. Sexual content is infrequent throughout gameplay. The profanity is very frequent including usage of f**k, s**t, d*mn, ass and pr*ck, be wary as more are there embedded within the games voice acting. Rivet guns can be used to blow up people's heads and/or brutally shoot people with them. The main weapon is an oversized drill which can be used to "drill" scary enemies, and at the start of the game you crush someone with your Big Daddy suit and drill an enemy, blood splatters everywhere on the screen. Onto the violence, and I cannot stress enough about how violent the game is. On the cover there is a little girl who in my opinion, would scare most kids and Big Daddy's are quite terrifying at first sight. I believe that if your child wants this game, you should read this review.įirstly, this game will definitely scare young children. ![]() ![]() Bioshock just happens to be in my username which means I love it.
